Emergency Dentistry

Common dental emergencies include severe toothaches, broken or chipped teeth, knocked-out teeth and injuries to the gums, tongue, lips and mouth. Here's what we recommend:

Please Contact Us Immediately

The first step is to contact Gateway Dental Care as soon as possible. Our friendly staff will guide you on what to do next and prioritise your visit so we can address your concern promptly.

Manage Your Symptoms

If you have a toothache, over-the-counter pain relievers can provide relief. For a broken tooth, clean your mouth with lukewarm water and place a cold pack on the outside of your cheek to help with swelling.

If you have a dislodged tooth, we recommend handling it by the crown (the top part). If you can, try to place it back into its socket or keep the tooth in a cup of milk or saline solution until you arrive at our clinic.

Follow-Up Dental Care

After receiving emergency dentistry care, we recommend following our instructions for aftercare. This may include arranging follow-up appointments to promote proper healing. Remember, timely action can save your tooth and reduce the likelihood of further issues, so don't hesitate to reach out in an emergency!
