Dr Tushaan Bhindi
Principal Dentist
Dr Tushaan Bhindi is local boy who graduated from Sydney University in 2004 and began his journey by jumping in the deep end…
His first move was purchasing a practice in Mareeba, Queensland, in early 2005. Still green, he saw a need to make a difference, to become better and to make a positive impact in people's lives. For the next eight years he built up the largest and most reputed dental practice in the region and was honoured multiple times for his service to the community by Rotary Club, Lions Club and the Chamber of Commerce.
He then bought and assisted many dentists with their practices and personal ambitions whilst spending time perfecting his art of cosmetic dentistry. With a deep rooted passion for preventive care, he spent his spare time understanding the effects of tooth decay in developing communities. This took him around the world with various organisations through which he did his most impactful work.
In 2018, he returned to the East to serve communities in Tamworth, Toowoomba and Chinchilla. After 20 years, he finally returned home. Now, he serves as the principal dentist at Gateway Dental Care.

Dr Payam Yazdani
Associate Dentist
Dr Payam Yazdani is passionate about keeping dental visits relaxed and friendly. With a dental degree from the University of Sydney and a Graduate Diploma in Oral Implants from the Australian College of Dental Surgeons, he’s been helping patients smile brighter since 2009. He joined the Gateway Dental team in 2023 where he brings his passion for science, medicine, and working with people to every appointment. Dr Yazdani loves helping patients improve their oral health and providing them with high-quality solutions that'll keep them smiling for years to come.
Outside the clinic, he enjoys staying active by the water, cycling, hiking and playing a friendly game of poker.

Dr Eliese Bruno
Associate Dentist
Dr Eliese Bruno earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree in Brazil and has been helping patients achieve healthier smiles since 2001. She joined our practice in 2022 and quickly became a valued team member.
Eliese is passionate about the transformative power of dentistry, especially how restoring a smile can boost confidence and enhance lives. Her favourite part of her job is working closely with patients to help them regain their smiles and improve their overall well-being.
Outside of dentistry, Eliese enjoys an active lifestyle filled with surfing, jogging and yoga. Known for her great sense of humour, she loves connecting with people and making those around her feel at ease.

Dr Nika Hrastovsek
Associate Dentist
Dr Nika Hrastovsek earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia before completing further qualifications with the Australian Dental Council in Sydney. She has been practising dentistry since 2009 and joined Gateway Dental in 2016, where she has been a valued team member ever since.
Nika’s favourite part of her work is helping patients achieve beautiful, healthy smiles while ensuring they feel comfortable and cared for every step of the way. With a love for science, medicine and attention to detail, dentistry has been the perfect career to combine her passions.
Outside the dental clinic, Nika leads an active life. She enjoys CrossFit, running with her running group and volunteering at a surf club. She also has a unique knack for handyman projects, from painting and plastering to refurbishing old furniture.

Dr Amanda Sullivan
Associate Dentist
Dr Amanda Sullivan earned her dental degree from the University of Bristol, UK, in 2003. After completing further training in general practice and hospital settings—including oral surgery, paediatric dentistry and restorative dentistry—she gained her Membership in the Faculty of Dental Surgeons (MFDS) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2006.
That same year, Amanda relocated to Australia, where she worked in a dental hospital and as a civilian dentist for the Navy. She joined Gateway in 2009 and now works part-time while raising her two young sons.
Amanda enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and takes pride in delivering high-quality, personalised care. She is passionate about providing the best treatment options for each patient and stays current with advancements in dentistry through continuing education. Amanda also offers adult orthodontics and is accredited for both the Cfast clear braces system and ClearCorrect®.
